How I adapted my Photography gear to fit my disability.
Hi there. If you wandered into my page then you're either a photographer or someone with a disability-or both, like me. Long story short, years ago I had a traumatic accident which injured my right hand(a photographers worst nightmare literally.) For a long time I couldn't take pictures at all. I fell into a real depression which left my mentally and physically destroyed. Oh and let's not forget my finances as well since I was a full time photographer.
Little by little I started doing research to find gear that would make it so I could take pictures again, since I couldn't bend my fingers properly and I couldn't grip either. Physical therapy helped, but I never got my hand to function right. Plot twist- I also developed PMW screen sensitivity issues while I was on my mad scientist research phase. Which led me to even more adaptive gear discoveries.
I use a strap system that lets me cradle my Sony a7 III with my right hand, and a mounted remote shutter that I can trigger easily with my left. It’s not the typical setup, but it works — and it lets me focus on creating instead of hurting.

We have used Portman on multiple occasions. It has been a great company to work with and I've always had a good experience. The pet sitter Paul did a great job caring for my elderly dogs and meeting their medical/special needs. He was also great about texting me daily to let me know how my dogs were doing.

I have 2 german shepards and they are my children. Deborah has been my sitter for the last 4 years and she is amazing. When we come home I can see they are well taken care of. I think they don't really care if I come home as long as Deborah is caring for them.
